Organised Crime Squad detectives have arrested an additional man over an alleged murder plot under Strike Force Barralier.
Strike Force Barralier was established in December 2023 by State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad to investigate an alleged conspiracy to murder a man residing in the Sydney metropolitan area.
Investigations identified three men as allegedly being involved in a plot to murder the 30-year-old.
Two of those men were charged in January and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, about 9am yesterday (Friday 1 March 2024), strike force detectives – assisted by the Public Order & Riot Squad – arrested an 18-year-old man in Gorokan.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at a home nearby, where detectives seized items relevant to their investigation.
The man was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with conspiracy to murder and participate in a criminal group.
He was refused bail and appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Saturday 2 March 2024.
