Third Tagged Trout In Bag

Tasmanian Government

A third tagged trout has been caught at Craigbourne Lake, as part of the Tasmanian Government's Tagged Trout Promotion.

Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Eric Abetz, congratulated the lucky angler Jeff Limbourne.

"Our Tagged Trout Promotion is doing its job – encouraging Tasmanians to be out enjoying the great outdoors in our world-class fisheries," Minister Abetz said.

"It has been an exciting start to the year for one lucky angler and I congratulate Mr Limbourne on his good fortune!

"There are still 13 more trout to be landed across the State and I encourage anglers to get out and explore a new corner of Tassie.

"Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future our Government is continuing to support rural and regional communities through innovative ideas – this is a great example."

There are 13 more chances this season to land a $5,000 tagged trout.

Tagged trout remain at the following locations:

To claim a prize anglers need to catch a brown trout with the correct tag and report the details of the catch, with photo evidence to the Inland Fisheries Service. Fish caught in the Tagged Trout Promotion must be kept with tag intact for verification.

Entry to the Tasmanian Tagged Trout Promotion is open to holders of a current freshwater angling licence or persons aged under 14 who have the permission of their parent or guardian.
