Third Teenager Charged After Stabbing At Wollongong

A third teenager has been charged following an alleged stabbing in the Illawarra last month.

Emergency services were called to a park on Burelli Street, Wollongong, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended and were told a group of people were allegedly involved in a brawl, before a teenage boy, aged 16, was stabbed multiple times.

The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist officers, and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 13 November 2024), a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Figtree.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with affray.

He was refused bail to appear before a Childrens Court today (Thursday 14 November 2024).

Earlier this month, two boys aged 16 and 17 were also charged, and remain before the courts.
