Three arrested over Porsche carjacking in Melbourne

Police have arrested two men and a boy following the theft of a $150,000 Porsche during an alleged carjacking incident in Melbourne last night, Victorian police said.

Investigators have been told a 44-year-old Bundoora man was driving the Porsche north on Nicholson Street in North Fitzroy when he stopped at a set of traffic lights near Reid Street about 10.40pm.

A white Mitsubishi, with three occupants on board, drove into the rear of the Porsche as it was stationary at the intersection, causing minor damage to the luxury vehicle.

Both drivers pulled over ahead and got out of the two vehicles.

As the victim knelt down to take a photo of his damaged Porsche, one of the men in the other vehicle allegedly produced a firearm and demanded the keys to the Porsche.

Another male got into the luxury vehicle while the other two men got back into the Mitsubishi.

Both vehicles drove off north on Nicholson Street.

Police attended the scene and searched the area but could not locate the stolen Porsche.

Around 4am, Cranbourne police responded to a suspicious loiter report in Hampton Park and located the stolen Porsche on Karoonda Way.

A 24-year-old Springvale man, a 22-year-old Surrey Hills man and a 16-year-old Keysborough boy were arrested.

All three remain in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.
