Three people have been charged following a two-vehicle crash on the state's Central Coast.
About 3.15pm (Thursday 3 January 2019), a 36-year old woman was stopped in her 4WD on Wakefield Road, Ryhope, 10km west of Toronto, when she was allegedly threatened by a man with an axe, who forced her from the car.
That man, a second man and a woman, got into her car and drove from the scene. About 3.30pm, police received several reports of the vehicle being driven erratically on the M1 near Warnervale.
Police found the vehicle at the intersection of Sparks Road and Minnesota Road, after it allegedly collided with another car.
The occupant of the second car sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Two men, aged 33 and 20, and a 22-year-old woman were arrested by police at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital with minor injuries.
They were released from hospital late today and taken to Toronto Police Station where they were each charged with take motor vehicle with occupant on board.
All three have been bail refused to appear in Newcastle Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 5 January 2019).
