Three people have been charged following an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the state's Central West.
In December 2019, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established Strike Force Grandi to investigate drug supply activities between Sydney and Mudgee.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed three search warrants on Ray Gooley Drive, Mortimer Street, and Old Grattai Road at Mudgee, and one in Rouse Hill, from 6am yesterday (Wednesday 17 March 2021).
Officers were assisted throughout the operation by officers from North West Metro Region Enforcement Squad.
During the searches, officers seized prohibited drugs including cocaine, cannabis, pills, and MDMA. Police also seized a gel blaster pistol, cash and ammunition.
Shortly after 6am yesterday, a 26-year-old man was arrested at a home on Ray Gooley Drive, Mudgee.
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station and charged with the following offences:
- Supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity
- Supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis (x6 counts)
- Supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity (x2 counts)
- Cause controlled drug to be carried by post (x3 counts)
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
- Possess unregistered firearm.
He was formally refused bail at Mudgee Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 17 March 2021) to reappear before the same court on Wednesday 19 May 2021.
A short time later, a 31-year-old man was arrested at a home on Terry Road, Rouse Hill.
The man was taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with the following offences:
- Supply prohibited drug on ongoing basis (x6 counts)
- Supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity
- Cause controlled drug to be carried by post (x3 counts)
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
He was bail refused to appear before Blacktown Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 17 March 2021) where he was formally refused bail to reappear before the same court on Monday 22 March 2021.
A woman, aged 21, attended Mudgee Police Station where she was arrested and charged with take part in supply prohibited drug (x3 counts).
She was granted conditional bail to appear before Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 19 May 2021.
Investigations continue.
