Three Charged by Robbery Squad for Supermarket Break-ins

Three men will appear before court today charged by Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives over the alleged break-ins of multiple Sydney supermarkets.

Detectives attached to State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Trevanna to investigate 15 organised break and enters across the Sydney region targeting supermarkets between May and July 2024.

Following extensive investigations, detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed search warrants on three homes in Westmead and Eastwood yesterday (Thursday 11 July 2024).

During the searches, detectives seized three eftpos machines, mobile phones, coin collections, prohibited drugs and clothing, relevant to the investigation.

A 39-year-old man was arrested at Eastwood and taken to Gladesville Police Station. A 44-year-old man was arrested at Westmead and a 41-year-old Westmead man was arrested at Smithfield. They were both taken to Granville Police Station.

The 39-year-old man was charged with four counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

The 41-year-old man was charged with five counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company.

The 44-year-old man was charged with one count of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company.

All three men were refused bail to appear before court today (Friday 12 July 2024), with the younger man appearing at Burwood Local Court and the two older men appearing at Parramatta Local Court.
