Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch have extradited three people from Western Australia, following investigations into an alleged wounding incident that occurred in Townsville in July.
It will be alleged at approximately 12.30pm on July 30, a man was returning to a workplace along Bayswater Road in Garbutt when he was approached by two people.
An altercation ensued, during which the man was stabbed in the torso/armpit.
The pair then tried to leave the scene in a vehicle driven by a third person, allegedly striking a second person who came to the assistance of the man.
A 24-year-old Kelso man was transported to the Townsville University Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
A 21-year-old Annandale man sustained minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.
Following extensive investigations, police located three people in Western Australia.
Working with the Western Australia Police Force, officers located all three people at a shopping centre along High Road in Riverton (WA) on Tuesday, September 11.
A 21-year-old woman, a 41-year-old man and a 20-year-old man appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court on 11 September 2024 where their extradition applications were approved.
The 21-year-old Kelso woman has been charged with one count of wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.
The 41-year-old Kelso man has been charged with one count of wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
The 20-year-old man is expected to be charged with assault occasioning bodily harm on arrival in Brisbane.
The three are expected to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
