Police arrested three people within 45 minutes of an aggravated burglary in Waterview yesterday morning.
At around 9.45am, Police were notified three men wearing masks had allegedly forced their way in to a property in Waterview.
Auckland City West Area Prevention Manager, Inspector Wayne Kitcher, says the men allegedly presented a firearm at a person inside the house, threatened them and stole multiple items from the house.
"The group has then fled in the victim's vehicle, which we have tracked to Remuera.
"The vehicle has travelled to the Ōrākei area before coming to a stop on Takitimu Street next to another vehicle occupied by two females.
"The men have then started moving item across to the second vehicle, at which point a nearby Police unit has intervened and all occupants have been taken into custody."
Inspector Kitcher says a firearm was located in the vehicle, as well as a large quantity of cannabis and an axe.
"We know this sort of offending can be incredibly invasive for our community.
"Police take this offending very seriously, and I hope our quick response reassures the community that we have absolutely no tolerance for this type of offending."
All three men, two aged 26 and one 21-year-old, will appear in Auckland district Court today charged with committing burglary with a weapon.
