Two men and a woman have been arrested following a string of offences in the state's Northern Tablelands.
Shortly before 11am today (Thursday 21 November 2019), officers attached to New England Police District were patrolling the Bundarra area when they detected a vehicle speeding in the township of Bundarra.
Police attempted to stop the Holden Commodore and commenced a pursuit after the driver failed to obey a direction to stop.
It is alleged the vehicle was driven onto a property before losing control and all three occupants ran from the scene.
Police will allege the two men and a woman ran to a nearby home where they stole a second vehicle at knifepoint and drove from the area.
Additional police resources attended the Cameron's Creek area following reported sightings of the stolen vehicle, which was located dumped and set on fire.
NSW Rural Fire Service personnel and aircraft remain on scene as they work on putting out the fire, which spread into the Stony Batter Creek Nature Reserve.
A further number of fires are believed to have been started as a result of the incident.
Shortly after 3pm, the two men and a woman were arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.
Investigations continue.
