Three boys, including two as young as 13 are facing more than 50 charges following a series of alleged burglaries and shop thefts at petrol stations and supermarkets in Baxter, Bayswater, Blackburn, Cheltenham, Cranbourne, Cranbourne West, Croydon Hills, Donvale, Hughesdale, Mordialloc, Ringwood and Seaford.
Police allege the boys were involved in a number of incidents where they stole cigarettes, money and cars during burglaries occurring between Sunday 24 February and 3 March.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives from the Eastern Region Crime Squad arrested the boys in Dandenong on Sunday 3 March.
• A 13-year-old Springvale boy faces up to 20 charges including aggravated burglary, theft from shop, criminal damage, burglary, armed robbery, attempted aggravated burglary and theft of motor vehicle. He was bailed to appear at a Children's Court at a later date.
• A 15-year-old Doveton boy faces up to 13 charges including aggravated burglary, theft from shop, criminal damage, robbery, burglary, armed robbery, theft of motor vehicle and possess cannabis. He was bailed to appear at a Children's Court at a later date.
• A 13-year-old Noble Park boy faces up to 20 charges including aggravated burglary, criminal damage, burglary, armed robbery, attempted aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle. He was bailed to appear at a Children's Court at a later date.
