Three people charged after police seize loaded firearm, weapons and drugs, NSW

Three people have been charged after detectives seized a loaded shotgun and a replica handgun as part of an ongoing investigation into the illicit activities of organised groups in NSW, NSW Police say.

Acting on information received, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad, assisted by the Tactical Operations Unit and Camden Police Area Command, arrested two men – aged 26 and 35 – at a service station on Narellan Road, Smeaton Grange, about 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 March 2018).

During a subsequent search of the younger man’s vehicle, police located a loaded double-barrel shotgun and ammunition, a knife, knuckledusters, and cocaine.

Officers also located knuckle dusters in the older man’s vehicle.

Both men were taken to taken to Narellan Police Station.

A short time later, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home at Spring Farm, where they located and seized a replica pistol, throwing knives, steroids, white powder, prescription drugs, cannabis, and cash.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman at the home, who was also taken to Narellan Police Station.

The 26-year-old Spring Farm man was charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence, possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, not keep firearm safely-pistol, possess loaded firearm public place, possess unregistered firearm-not prohibited, not keep firearm safely-not prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and supply prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday 28 March 2018).

The 35-year-old Narellan Vale man was charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 24 April 2018.

The woman was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, and possess prohibited drug.

She was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 24 April 2018.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation criminal group activity, including drug supply, in their local area to call Crime Stoppers.
