Three people, including a 12-year-old girl, were seriously injured following a crash in Sydney's south-west yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Memorial Avenue and the T-Way, Liverpool, just after 11am (Saturday 8 February 2020), following reports a bus and a Toyota Avalon had collided.
The Toyota driver, a 58-year-old man, and two passengers – a 50-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl – all suffered serious injuries after being trapped in the vehicle.
They were freed by Fire and Rescue NSW before being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics. The man and woman were taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition and she is listed as critical.
The child was taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead and remains in a critical condition.
The bus driver, a 62-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for further treatment and to undergo mandatory testing.
Two passengers, a 40-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy, were also treated by paramedics for minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. A further male passenger was injured.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. It has since been examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
