Three juveniles have been charged after allegedly committing a number of serious offences across Sydney's south-west and north-west regions.
About 5.50pm on Saturday 27 February 2021, a 12-year-old boy - in the company of two other boys aged nine and 11 – allegedly stole keys to a Holden Barina that was parked in North Parramatta.
Shortly before 6am the following day (Sunday 28 February 2021), the 12-year-old boy allegedly drove the vehicle with the two other boys inside, and narrowly missed three people watching the sunrise in the carpark of a reserve at Carlingford.
Police will allege they travelled through numerous Sydney suburbs committing further offences, including the theft of a mobility scooter which was being ridden by a man, theft from retail stores, and two fail-to-stop crashes, before dumping the stolen Barina in Market Street, Sydney, about 11am on Sunday.
Later that day, about 4.20pm, while running from the scene of an alleged attempted stealing at a convenience store, the nine-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle on Victoria Road, West Ryde.
The two other boys, aged 11 and 12, ran from the scene.
The younger boy was taken by ambulance to The Children's Hospital in Westmead in a stable condition suffering from leg injuries, cuts, abrasions and a fractured eye socket.
About 3.45am on Monday 1 March 2021, police will allege a 15-year-old boy stole keys to a Hyundai Accent during an aggravated break and enter at a home on Ancona Avenue, Toongabbie.
About 4am, the Hyundai was involved in a short pursuit with police in Budgaree Road, Toongabbie. Over the following hours, the vehicle was seen driving erratically and at high-speed throughout surrounding suburbs of Toongabbie.
Despite a co-ordinated response by specialist units and officers from Police Area Command's across North-West and South-West Metropolitan Regions, the Hyundai could not be located.
About 10.30am (Monday 1 March 2021), two boys aged 11 and 12, allegedly threatened a 29-year-old pregnant woman with a knife and stole her Mazda 3 that was parked in a carpark at Pendle Hill.
Police responded and located the stolen Hyundai a short distance away, however, were unable to find the boys or the Mazda 3.
Inquiries continued resulting in the arrest of two boys, aged 11 and 12, about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 March 2021) by Public Order and Riot Squad officers who were patrolling the Constitution Hill area.
The third boy, aged 15, was arrested near Parramatta Railway Station about 6pm.
They were taken to Parramatta Police Station where they were charged with a range of offences including police pursuit, aggravated robbery, dangerous driving, armed robbery, assault with intent to rob, and stealing motor vehicles.
They were all refused bail and will appear in a children's court today (Wednesday 3 March 2021)
