Ticked Some Boxes Years Ago: Man Wins Saturday Lotto

A South Australian man couldn't hide his happiness during "the best call I’ve ever had," confirming his slice of the $5 million jackpot in Saturday’s X Lotto draw.

The Adelaide local was among 13 lucky winners nationwide, each securing $401,209.07 in the draw on Saturday, 5 October 2024.

The slim sliced jackpot included 13 winners from Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia, each collecting an equal share of the grand prize.

“I’m glad to get your call!” the winning man exclaimed when an official from The Lott made contact.

“I checked my ticket last night. Normally I have a look at The Lott app when going to bed.

“I was amazed!

“At first, it said I had a win, but I thought, ‘Oh yeah, probably $7’.

“Then, when I saw the full prize, I thought, ‘You must be joking!’.

“That was a lovely surprise. Better than a kick in the guts!

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for a long time – I just ticked some boxes years ago and stuck with them.

“It’s a fantastic prize! We’re already starting to think about what we could do with $400,000 – from home renovations to travel.

“Thanks a lot for the phone call – it’s the best one I’ve ever had!”

The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4509 on 5 October 2024 were 13, 30,18, 24, 27 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 26.
