Stop and smell the roses at Queensland's prettiest train station, with tickets now on sale for the scenic rail journey between Toowoomba railway station and Spring Bluff railway station.
As part of the annual Carnival of Flowers celebrations, rail enthusiasts will be able to ride in heritage carriages hauled by two diesel locomotives from 14 to 22 September 2024.
Queensland Rail's Nev Conway said the heritage-listed Spring Bluff railway station was home to more than 150 years of railway history and magnificent landscaped gardens.
"Queensland Rail prides itself on connecting communities and we love connecting festival-goers with Spring Bluff's award winning gardens," Mr Conway said.
"We have run the heritage shuttle and carriages since the 1970s and since then it has become a staple of the Carnival of Flowers each and every year.
"Tickets are always in high demand, so make sure you book this experience which will delight rail buffs young and old."
Mr Conway said this year Queensland Rail would donate a portion of ticket sales to the Spring Bluff Railway Station Trust.
"Spring Bluff railway station was originally built in the 1860s to allow trains to stop during the steep climb up the range from Brisbane to Toowoomba," he said.
"We're not 'bluffing' when it comes to preserving rail heritage and these funds will mean the Spring Bluff Trust can continue its excellent work at this historic station.
"We've also kept ticket prices affordable, so as many people as possible can enjoy the experience."
The journey time is 35 minutes from Toowoomba, with plenty of time to relax and enjoy gardens in between trips.

Adult tickets are $20, and Children 4 to 15 years are $10 for the return rail experience. Infants up to 3 years travel for free and must be booked in a seat.
