The popular Tilba Festival returns this weekend celebrating local heritage, food and music thanks to support from the Morrison Government.
The Tilba Festival was cancelled in 2020 but makes its return on Easter Saturday (3 April) on the beautiful New South Wales Far South Coast.
Senator for NSW Jim Molan said the Morrison Government had provided $30,000 to support the festival through the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Grants program.
"I am so pleased to announce the Morrison Government has been able to support this wonderful local event and important tourism experience," Senator Molan said.
"The Tilba Festival features stallholders, local food producers and entertainers for a day that benefits the whole community and we hope everyone attending has a wonderful day."
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan said the Morrison Government was supporting community events because they helped drive regional tourism.
"Community events help attract tourists who spend money in the community and that supports local jobs and businesses," Mr Tehan said.
"I encourage Australians to support the Tilba community and the Tilba Festival by coming along and taking part in a wonderful community event."
Tilba District Chamber of Commerce President Susan Gray thanked the Morrison Government for the grant funding.
"The Tilba Festival has been a must-attend event in the calendar of locals and tourists for over three decades," Ms Gray said. "Having to cancel it in 2020 was a real blow to the community so receiving the grant was the boost we needed to get an organising committee together and, after a challenging year, give everyone something to look forward to this Easter."
