Moira Shire Council is encouraging residents to get ready for changes to kerbside bin collection services this February. These changes are designed to reduce landfill waste and support more sustainable waste practices across the community.
From February, Red Lid Landfill Bins will be collected fortnightly, while Green Lid Organics Bin will move to weekly collections. While adjusting to these changes may take time, a little preparation can make the transition smoother for your household.
Moira Shire Council Acting CEO Bryan Sword said the best way to prepare was by learning how to sort your waste correctly.
"Understanding what goes in each bin will reduce your reliance on your landfill bin, free up space, and ensure valuable materials are recycled or composted rather than sent to landfill."
