The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group (TLDMG) has moved to stand down as rains have eased across the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology has advised it has cancelled its severe weather warning, but that people should still be aware of any remaining floodwater.
TLDMG Chair Andrew Robinson said while the immediate weather threat was over, there was still plenty of recovery needed for the city.
"Our Local Recovery and Resilience Group will remain stood up for the coming weeks and months, so it can mobilise across the city to repair, rebuild and strengthen our community following this weather event," Cr Robinson said.
"Disaster management doesn't end just because the disaster is over. We need Townsville to get back on its feet, including our suburbs like Paluma, Crystal Creek and Cungulla who were hit hard during the rain event."
