Tobacconist Shop Break Charges At Ipswich

Ipswich Detectives have charged a 26-year-old man with break and enter offences after the forced entry of four tobacconists in the Ipswich area.

It will be alleged on June 26 between 3am and 5am, a group of offenders travelling in a stolen blue Haval SUV, have forced entry into four tobacconist shops located in North Ipswich, Chuwar, Springfield and Collingwood Park.

At three businesses they stole cigarettes and tobacco products but were unable to access any cigarettes at the forth business.

Following investigations by the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch, detectives located and arrested a 26-year-old Logan man at a Edens Landing address on July 5.

He has been charged with four counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of obstruct police.

He has been refused police bail and will appear at Roma Street Magistrates Court on July 6.

The investigation is continuing regarding other people involved in these offences and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The Haval SUV had been reported as stolen from Eagleby.
