Toddler Dies After Being Pulled From Dam At Portland

A toddler has died after being pulled from a dam in the state's west yesterday.

About 3pm on Tuesday 12 November 2024, emergency services were called to a property on Pipers Flat Road, Portland, following reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and found a two-year-old boy had been pulled from a dam on the property.

The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Bathurst Hospital, where he later died.

Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
