A Tassie woman is ecstatic after winning a staggering $1 million in the Weekday Windfall draw, held on Friday, 9 August 2024. With this windfall, she is excited to finally fulfill her lifelong dream of owning a home.
The Devonport resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4427, drawn Friday 9 August 2024 and took home a total division one prize of $1 million.
The newly-minted millionaire shared she had been trying to fathom her newfound treasure for a couple of days since discovering the winning news late Friday night.
“Thank you very much!” she cheered.
“I had a look on Friday night, but it still hasn’t sunk in. I woke up on Saturday like nothing happened and went to work all weekend but deep down I’m in shock.
“It’s so wonderful. I’ve only told my sister and my parents, and we had a champagne on Saturday night to celebrate!
“I bought a ticket into the last Powerball draw, and I had won division nine on the ticket so decided to use those winnings to purchase a ticket into Weekday Windfall. Now look what’s happened!
“I haven’t told my kids yet; I don’t think they’ll believe me.
“This win will one hundred percent go towards a house. I thought I would never be able to own my own home but now I’ll be able to! It’s so exciting.
“I’ve been renting my entire life and now I won’t need to!”
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4427 on Friday 9 August 2024 were 16, 43, 17, 30, 21 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 33 and 3.
