- Tom Hiddleston is in "advance talks" to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, according to Phil Nobile Jr. of Birth.Movies.Death.com, AceShowbiz reports. Phil adds that "while talks have indeed taken place, and that Tom very much wants the job (a fact of which he's made no secret), no official offer has been made yet."
Phil claims that he has been a repository for all the random James Bond-related things over the last decade. "If you've read the Bond coverage on this site, you know we don't run tabloid rumors or speculation without clearly identifying them as such," he writes, "They're fun to debate and discuss, but we're always very careful to separate gossip from actual information."
Phil points out that Tom has a pleasant little link with James Bond franchises as he shares the same educational background with both the literary 007 and Ian Fleming himself, all three graduated from Eton College.
Previous news said that Daniel signed on to star in Steven Soderbergh's heist comedy "Logan Lucky" alongside Katherine Heigl, Channing Tatum, Michael Shannon, Adam Driver, Riley Keough and Seth MacFarlane. As production for "Logan Lucky" is scheduled to begin in the fall, it would seem he's making himself unavailable to reprise his role as James Bond.
