Camden has shown its sustainable best in the last six months, with over 4.2 tonnes being diverted from landfill after being collected by RecycleSmart.
Council partnered with RecycleSmart in May this year, offering residents the chance to recycle their tough-to-recycle items with ease.
More than 600 pickups have been completed by RecycleSmart, with the majority being soft plastics which cannot be recycled via the yellow recycling bin. Other items recycled included clothing, batteries and E-waste.
"Joining with RecycleSmart has allowed Council to continue its commitment to making it easy for our residents to divert waste away from landfill and we have had a fantastic result within the first six months of our partnership," a Council spokesperson said.
"Having RecycleSmart was the next step in Council's quest to reduce waste, after also offering our community recycling stations at our libraries and administration building and a range of other events throughout the year."
To recycle your hard-to-recycle items, simply download the RecycleSmart app, pack your bag and book your Power Pickup.
Council is also hosting its next Recycling Drop Off event on Saturday 27 November at its Works Depot located at 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan from 9am-3pm.
