Tony Onions Park new playground was officially opened on Thursday 27 April 2023 by Mrs Wendy Tuckerman MP, Mayor Peter Walker, and students from Marulan Public School.

Among the new features are accessible and discovery play areas, adult-child interaction areas, and seating areas that allow people to stay longer. Funded through a joint contribution of $200,000 from the State Government's Everyone Can Play program Goulburn Mulwaree Council, the project aligns with the fund's objectives to provide play spaces that cater for all ages, abilities, and family units.

The installation of new play equipment in Marulan was especially important given its projected population growth and stopping off point for families travelling between Sydney and Canberra on the Hume Highway.

Lille Kracht from Marulan Public School was invited to do the Acknowledgement of Country.

"The opening was very well attended, with most, if not all of the students from Marulan Public School there." Said Mayor Peter Walker.

"At the ceremony, school captains Liam Webb and Tasha Ghosn gave speeches. Speaking at events is an important deal for our younger generation, and they did an outstanding job." Mr Walker continued.
