Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has completed works on the Toomey Street footpath upgrade in Yarraman.
TRC Infrastructure Committee Portfolio Leader Melissa Taylor said the project was part of the 2020/21 Region-wide concrete footpath renewal program.
"Each year we undertake a region-wide program to improve our footpath network across the Region," Cr Taylor said.
"The Toomey Street footpath upgrade was a community-driven project. The existing asphalt footpath was starting to show its age with water and communication service installations over the years contributing to an uneven surface for pedestrians.
"Patchwork repairs to the footpath alleviated the problems temporarily but ultimately a more permanent solution was required which is why we've upgraded the footpath with a new concrete surface.
"A design was produced in-house to work the new footpath in and around the existing infrastructure and adjacent buildings."
