Top US Consular Official Visits Jerusalem, Tel Aviv

Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Rena Bitter will travel to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Israel, from January 6 to 9.

During her visit, Assistant Secretary Bitter will meet with U.S. Embassy staff in both cities to tour consular operations and meet with U.S. citizens in Israel and the West Bank impacted by the Israel-Hamas conflict.

She will also engage with Israeli officials to emphasize the need to complete investigations into the recent killings of U.S. citizens in the West Bank, ensure fair and reciprocal treatment of U.S. citizens traveling to and through Israel, and reinforce continued cooperation in providing consular assistance to U.S. citizens.
