Torrens University Australia students can now consolidate their studies over three days a week, consistent across the year, helping them to better plan study, work, and personal commitments.
Along with studying a 3-day week, students can use an Annual Subject Planner, an intuitive tool that helps students plan their studies for the entire year.
The planner provides a clear overview of subject offerings across each trimester, allowing students to make informed decisions about their course load and availability for the full year ahead so they can secure ongoing employment.
Dan Cockerell, President, Torrens University Australia said that the 3-day week and the Annual Subject Planner helps students to combine their studies with employment with confidence for a year.
"At Torrens University, we know that our students' lives extend beyond the classroom. We want to provide tertiary education that fits our students' lifestyles in practical ways.
"Our focus as the university is to continuously find ways to improve the study experience for our students so they can successfully combine getting a qualification with earning.
"Employers who choose to partner with us can also be assured that Torrens can offer employees easy, flexible pathways that enable them to continue with their careers while advancing their qualifications.
"This innovative approach also means that our academic staff have the opportunity to focus on research, collaborate with peers and maximise professional development opportunities which also enhances their expertise," said Mr Cockerell.
Students can confidently plan their year
The 3-day timetable divides subjects across the university's three main faculties, ensuring that classes for each discipline are delivered on specific days of the week as follows:
Business & Hospitality: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Design & Creative Technologies: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Health & Education: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
These designated days remain consistent throughout the academic year, offering students a clear, structured schedule to help them efficiently plan their studies, employment, and personal activities.
Key benefits for students include:
Predictability: Students gain clarity with a full-year class schedule, helping them effectively balance their academic, employment, and personal commitments.
Clear subject offerings: Students can quickly view which subjects will be available in each study period with simplified scheduling and timetabling functions
Enhanced support: The structured timetable enables the university to deliver targeted support to specific disciplines more effectively.
Stronger on-campus opportunities: With focused days for each discipline, students can connect more easily with peers and faculty, building valuable professional networks.
Connection with industry: Faculties can host discipline-specific industry events on the days when students are on campus, enhancing opportunities for career development.
