Three Barossa towns have been nominated in the Tourism Industry Council of South Australia's (TiCSA) Top Town Awards, which recognises SA towns that offer an amazing visitor experience and demonstrate strong commitment to encouraging tourism.
The iconic tourist destination, Tanunda is in the running for 'Top Tourism Town' while heritage rich, Angaston is up for 'Small Tourism Town' and high country, Eden Valley is in the 'Tiny Tourism Town' category.
The award submissions have been a collaborative process between township group representatives and council's Tourism Services team at the Barossa Visitor Centre and supported by Barossa Australia. "We are thrilled to be able to support the groups to leverage and promote their townships and tourism products with the overarching goal to encourage visitation and experiential tourism" said Jo Seabrook, Manager Tourism Services.
There are 20 towns from across the state vying for the 2022 People's Choice 'Top Tourism Town' award. Both locals and visitors are encouraged to cast their vote before Monday 9 May.
