New lawn and native plantings on the foreshore are only weeks away, as the Port Campbell Town Centre project approaches a major milestone.
Retaining walls and footpaths have been completed, with access to the first set of beach stairs and public shower reinstated.
Retaining walls, paving, footpaths and lawns at the Rocket Shed have also been completed.
The Lord Street roundabout nearest the foreshore has been removed and new street lighting will soon be installed.
Coastal Ward Councillor Jamie Vogels said the south section of Lord Street near the Norfolk Pines would be asphalted this week.
"Once the asphalting is completed, parking will be reinstated at the Norfolks," Cr Vogels said.
Cr Vogels said construction had now shifted to the main Lord Street area between Cairns and Morris Streets.
"This is unfortunately the most disruptive stage with the one-way traffic set-up," he said.
"However, it is in place for the safety of contractors, road users, and to enable the project to progress as efficiently as possible."
Cr Vogels thanked businesses and the community for their patience.
"The town centre has lots of construction going on, but businesses are still open and access to businesses remains a priority for the construction team.
"I know it has been a bit rough for some residents to see the town in its current state, but it's mid-project and right in the middle of winter.
"The foreshore, Rocket Shed and Norfolk Pines areas have really taken shape and the lawn and plantings will go in just in time for spring.
"Come summer, I'm optimistic the finished product will have been worth it," Cr Vogels added.
