The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for public assistance following a serious traffic crash in Glenwood yesterday Monday, February 3.
At approximately 6.40am, a blue Volkswagen T-Cross was travelling behind a truck on the Bruce Highway near Deveron Road, when a rock has gone through the windscreen of the Volkswagen, striking the driver.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 54-year-old man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 56-year-old woman, a passenger of the Volkswagen, was not physically injured.
Both the driver and passenger are international tourists.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations remain ongoing to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision to contact police.
