A Queensland woman is setting her sights on exploring the hidden gems of Australia after winning the latest Saturday Gold Lotto.
The draw, which took place on Saturday, 17 August 2024, saw her as one of seven national division one winners, each securing a prize of $706,820.87 from about $5 million top prize pool.
The chirpy retiree, from Russell Island in the Redland City region woke up in a panic to the sound of a phone call from lottery officials but was thrilled to learn it was good news about her newfound fortune.
“Oh, thank you very much!” she cheered.
“It feels good, but I am overwhelmed!
“You’ve made my day. I don’t know what to say.
“We’ve won little bits and pieces here and there but nothing close to this!
“I am all over the place. I can’t comprehend this.
“I can’t wait to tell my brother today and rub it all in! He’ll be happy.
“Firstly, I’ll pay off some of my bills, and then I’ll spend a bit of myself.
“I’ve worked hard all my life and now it’s time to just enjoy life. I’d like to go on a holiday around Australia; see things I’ve never seen.
“Thank you so much. You’re wonderful!”
Her winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Lucky at Lake Side News, Shop 5 Library Building, High Street, Victoria Point.
The Lucky at Lake Side News team said were pleased to have sold a division one winning entry to a regular customer and wished her all the best with the prize.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4495 on 17 August 2024 were 23, 15, 41, 25, 1 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 45 and 11.
