Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will investigate the feasibility of supplying water to growing urban areas at Westbrook and Drayton, as well as southern Toowoomba Region townships.
A report detailing the staged planning, budgeting and scheduling required for an urban trunk water supply to service Westbrook and Drayton and the townships of Cambooya, Greenmount, Nobby and Clifton will be prepared for Council's consideration.
Council's December Ordinary Meeting this week (December 14) approved the investigation.
TRC Planning and Development Committee chair Cr Megan O'Hara Sullivan, who moved the motion, said the information would help Council to implement its long-term growth plans.
"This information will give greater confidence to the development industry and residents who will be looking for new housing opportunities in these areas." Cr O'Hara Sullivan said.
