Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will complete a review of its Waste Infrastructure Plan to determine the location and timing of future waste management facilities for the region.
Council today (February 18) endorsed the strategic review at its February Ordinary meeting after rescinding a 2018 decision to build a Tier Two waste management facility on Council-owned land at Wyreema.
TRC Water and Waste Committee chair Cr Nancy Sommerfield said Council had identified several significant project constraints during the design process for the Wyreema facility.
Cr Sommerfield said Council would revisit its Waste Infrastructure Plan to review current operational and service levels for the southern area.
