The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today continued its findings made on December 18, 2013, in Inquiry No. NQ-2013-004, in respect of the dumping of circular copper tube originating in or exported from the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Hellenic Republic, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the United Mexican States, and the subsidizing of those goods originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China.
The Tribunal found that the dumping of circular copper tube originating in or exported from Brazil, Greece, China, Korea and Mexico, and the subsidizing of circular copper tube originating in or exported from China, were likely to result in injury. The Canada Border Services Agency will therefore continue to impose anti‑dumping and countervailing duties on these products.
The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
