Tribunal Makes Findings-Heavy Plate from Chinese Taipei, Germany and Turkey

Further to the Tribunal's inquiry, pursuant to subsection 42(4.1) of the Special Import Measures Act, the Tribunal found that the volume of dumped goods originating in or exported from the Republic of Turkey is negligible. As such, the Tribunal terminated its inquiry regarding the dumping of the above‑mentioned goods originating in or exported from the Republic of Turkey.

The Tribunal will issue the reasons for its findings on February 22, 2021.

The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, complaints about federal government procurement and appeals of customs and excise tax rulings. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
