Police have arrested three men following an alleged home invasion on the State's South Coast.
About 3.45pm on Monday 5 August 2024, two men entered a home in Sanctuary Point.
A 41-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a wooden pole, while two other men threatened the man from outside the home. The occupant of the home, while protecting himself struck one of the men with a bat, before the group of men fled.
The man suffered minor injuries. A 62-year-old man was also at home at the time but was not injured.
Detectives attached to South Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene, commencing an investigation.
Following inquiries, around 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 August 2024), detectives attended a home in Idlewild Avenue, Sanctuary Point and arrested two men, aged 48 and 29. They were taken to Nowra Police Station where they were charged with Aggravated enter dwelling without knowing people there.
They were granted strict conditional bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 27 August 2024.
About 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 August 2024), detectives attended a hospital on Scenic Drive, Nowra.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with Aggravated break and enter & commit serious indictable offence-inflict actual bodily harm and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal).
He appeared before Nowra Local Court today (Wednesday 7 August 2024) and was refused bail to reappear on Tuesday 1 October 2024.
Police are continuing inquiries and believe there may still be one man who can assist with their inquiries.
