Whitehorse Crime Investigation detectives have charged three people after a series of alleged burglaries across Melbourne.
It is alleged the trio stole cash, sets of keys and personal property from six commercial venues, including:
• An RSL on Morwell Avenue, Watsonia on 11 January about 4am
• An RSL on Nelson Road, Box Hill on 21 January about 5am
• A licenced venue on Sydney Road and Moreland Road, Brunswick, on 25 January about 6.15am
• An RSL on Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale on 26 January about 6am
• An RSL on Lorne Street, Fawkner on 26 January about 6.20am
• An RSL on Main Street, Greensborough on 3 February about 1.20am
Police will also allege that they compromised the telecommunication and security systems at the Watsonia, Box Hill, and Pascoe Vale venues to gain access to the buildings.
On Friday 7 February, detectives issued search warrants at properties in Prahran and Brunswick West.
They located and seized a vehicle and arrested a man and two women.
A 38-year-old Brunswick West man has since been charged with:
• 5 x burglary
• 1 x attempted burglary
• 5 x theft
• possess methylamphetamine
• possess butanediol
• deal with proceeds of crime
• fraudulently alter id
A 31-year-old Brunswick West woman has since been charged with:
• 5 x burglary
• 1 x attempted burglary
• 5 x theft
• possess methylamphetamine
• possess butanediol
• deal proceeds of crime
A 33-year-old Prahran woman has since been charged with:
• 5 x burglary
• 1 x attempted burglary
• 5 x theft
• possess methylamphetamine
• possess butanediol
• possess cannabis
• 2 x deal with proceeds of crime
They were all bailed to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates' Court on 28 April.
