***CLOSURES AND SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS***
In line with current weather warnings, there will be impacts to Council services from tomorrow morning (8.30am Thursday 6 March 2025). Advice regarding reinstatement of services will be provided over the weekend, or early into next week.
Council front line services will be closed, including:
- Customer Service Centres
- Libraries
- Grafton Regional Gallery
- Pound
- Grafton Reginal Aquatic Centre
- Sports Fields
- Coutts Crossing Golf Course
Customer contact phone and email services are planned to remain open during normal business hours from 8.30am – 4.30pm.
Inspection services will be rescheduled for an appropriate time following the event.
Bins collections will continue tomorrow (Thursday 6 March), however will be cancelled on Friday 7 March due to safety concerns with bins and debris. Residents are reminded to remove bins from sidewalks and secure in a safe place.
***BIN COLLECTION & WASTE SERVICE STATIONS ***
Bins will not be collected on Friday 7 March due to the risk of them blowing away and causing injury or harm. This includes red, yellow and green bins. Please do not put your bins out for collection this Friday and ensure any bins are safely secured.
Areas impacted by this include:
- Organics (Green Bin) - Copmanhurst, Seelands, Junction Hill, Westlawn, Maclean, Townsend, James Creek
- Recycle (Yellow Bin) - Maclean, Townsend
- Waste (Red Bin) - Baryulgil, Fineflower, Coaldale, Copmanhurst, Seelands, Westlawn, Junction Hill, Summerland Way to Pringles Way, Trenayr, Maclean, Townsend, James Creek
The Friday collection is now planned to occur in accessible locations on Monday 10 March.
Please put your bins out as normal for the week commencing 10 March. Please be patient as there may be a delay of up to one day as a result of our team playing catch-up from the previous Friday. Possible flooding of roads and low-lying areas may cause further impacts.
Waste transfer stations at Glenreagh, Tyringham, Baryulgil, Iluka and Minnie Water will close over the weekend and reopen Monday. The Grafton Regional Landfill, and the Maclean and Grafton Waste Transfer stations will remain open under normal business hours over this time.
