Police are investigating after a truck and utility crashed, north of Taree overnight, NSW Police say.
Shortly after midnight today, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Moorlands, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a B-double and a Mitsubishi Triton utility, both travelling north, crashed.
Five occupants, two females and three males, were all treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the b-double, a 37-year-old man, was also taken to hospital where he will undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
Following the crash the B-double caught fire and was later extinguished.
Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
