A truck driver is lucky to be alive after his truck left the road and crashed into a tree at Bordertown this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports of a crash on the Dukes Highway, just west of Bordertown, just before 6am on Saturday 9 December.
A large branch became impaled in the windscreen of the truck, however the driver managed to get out of the cab and appears to have sustained relatively minor injuries.
The 62-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Bordertown Hospital.
Police urge all motorists to take care on the roads at all times. Drive to the conditions and have regular rest breaks on longer trips.
