The Gold Coast's favourite FREE family event is going to be bigger and better than ever in 2023.

The City of Gold Coast's Monster Machinery Day will be rolling into the Broadwater Parklands on Sunday 21 May for its 20th year of entertaining and educating the community.

There will be more than 40 City vehicles on display including excavators, tip trucks, road sweepers, beach tractors and a flood boat. As an added bonus this year, the Pacific Airshow will have one of their planes on display.

The event will be expanded this year and set up across the entire one kilometre of the Broadwater Parklands Great and Southern Lawns, creating more space for visitors to spread out and explore.

"The City's Monster Machinery Day is one of the biggest events on the Gold Coast calendar," said Mayor Tom Tate.

"It gives our young locals a chance to learn about the machinery transforming and maintaining the Gold Coast. The big kid in all of us will enjoy it too"

"If your little ones love everything that digs, scoops, cleans and beeps then this is an event not to be missed."

With the extra space, kids are encouraged to bring their scooters or bikes to help them get around.

There will be a bike maintenance mechanic at the event for the first time to freshen up your kids' wheels!

Free activities include live machinery demonstrations, a super slide, a rock-climbing wall and a giant sand pit, plus there will be a selection of food trucks available throughout the day.

"I say to all the kids, dust off your work gear and imagine yourself as a landscaper, lifeguard, beach cleaner, construction worker or dune protector," Mayor Tate added.
