A new TT-Line Chair and Directors have been appointed following a thorough and widespread selection process.

Mr Ken Kanofski has been appointed the new TT-Line Chair, following an extensive recruitment process undertaken by Watermark Search International.

Minister for Transport, Eric Abetz, congratulated Mr Kanofski and the board on their respective appointments.

Mr Kanofski, a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as CEO and COO of NSW Roads and Maritime (RMS) as well as CEO, Land and Housing Corporation, Department of Finance and Services, NSW.

Mr Kanofski's current directorships include Chair of Sydney Olympic Park Authority; Director, Western Sydney International Airport and Commissioner, NSW Independent Planning Commission.

Minister Abetz said that TT-Line plays an integral role in Tasmania – ferrying freight and people to and from our shores every single day.

"The incoming board will be vital in ensuring the new Spirit vessels are operating in Tasmanian waters as soon as possible and to deliver the vision laid out by the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future," Minister Abetz said.

"I congratulate Mr Kanofski on his appointment. In what is a terrific gain for Tasmania and TT-Line, Mr Kanofski is an outstanding infrastructure expert respected around the nation for his effective work.

"He also has a strong track record of delivery and has done so across a number of key organisations in New South Wales.

"Mr Kanofski's strong credentials will be complemented by the wealth of experience gained by all new appointees to the TT-Line board – bringing a deep blend of tourism, maritime and infrastructure experience.

"Importantly the new directors bring particular expertise regarding the tourism market at a local and national level and within the caravan and accommodation sector in particular.

"This vital experience and knowledge will supercharge Tasmania and TT-Line's efforts to provide a product and service that dovetails effectively with the sector's needs, bringing new investment and jobs to the State.

"The Tasmanian Government welcomes all new appointees to their respective roles and has confidence that their skills and expertise will set TT-Line on a course for great success.

"I want to thank Interim Chair Damian Bugg AM KC for his dedication and hard work as Chair since August. Dr Bugg will remain on the Board, a position that he has held since 2019."
