Council is undertaking sand nourishment works at several sand recreation foreshore areas in June.
These works will replace the sand washed away during the recent lake rises and extended periods of intense rainfall, and will maintain the amenity of the area for public use and enjoyment.
Works will commence Tuesday 14 June and continue until 24 June across the following sites:
- Long Jetty foreshore (Tuggerah Parade, opposite Archbold St). Some spaces will be temporally closed off, however there will be minimal interruption to public access during works. Salt marsh swale maintenance works will also be undertaken at Long Jetty from 14 June 2022 to clean out sediment and vegetation so that the stormwater quality improvement infrastructure functions efficiently.
- Budgewoi, Mackenzie Reserve (Taylor Cres) - There will be partial carpark closure whilst works are underway.
- Lake Munmorah, Tom Burke Reserve (Dianne Ave) - access road and carpark temporarily closed whilst works are underway.
