The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has spread festive cheer the week before Christmas, by donating more than 3,000 gifts to children in care at the annual Commissioner's Christmas gift drive.
The event, which is now in its 32nd year, collects donations from QPS members and the community to gift to children in care, through foster and kinship services.
In true holiday spirit, Santa himself visited Police Headquarters this week to deliver the presents to those in attendance, hoping to make everyone's Christmas season a little brighter.
The event was filled with festive fun, featuring performances from the QPS Pipes and Drums and the Melody Blue Choir as well as a visit from the Dog Squad.
Commissioner Steve Gollschewski expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.
"This annual event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and make a real difference for children in our community during Christmas," Commissioner Gollschewski said.
"I am immensely grateful to everyone that has supported this initiative whose generosity will have a lasting impact beyond the festive season."
Officer in Charge of Carina Police Station, Senior Sergeant Brendan Jorgensen, was among those celebrating with his station participating in donations alongside the Carina Football Club, the Men's Shed and surrounding schools.
"Police have the upmost sympathy for kids in these situations and understand Christmas can be especially difficult," Senior Sergeant Jorgensen said.
"This year the members of the Carina community donated more than 800 gifts for the drive, we can't thank them enough."
