A community open day for the new Tweed Valley Hospital will be held on Saturday, March 16, ahead of its official opening in May.
Nationals Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, secured record funding of $723 million for the new hospital, which is the largest health infrastructure project ever built outside Sydney.
The new Tweed Valley Hospital will provide:
- more beds
- expanded emergency department
- enhanced medical, surgical, and mental health services
- expanded outpatient services with more clinics
- new interventional cardiology service
- new radiotherapy service as part of integrated cancer care.
The open day will run from 10am to 2pm. Visitors will be able to:
- Join a behind-the-scenes tour and learn more about our new hospital
- Take a walk through some key hospital services including the emergency department, maternity, intensive care, cancer services and outpatients
There'll be activities for the kids, refreshments will be available, and there's free parking available onsite.
To register for this free event, and for parking and directions, go to www.tweedvalleyhospital.health.nsw.gov.au and click on the Community Open Day link.
The new hospital, at Cudgen, will open to patients on Tuesday, May 14.
"I'm delighted that this amazing state-of-the-art facility that I fought so hard to deliver, against so much negativity, is almost ready to open," Mr Provest said.
