Tweed Valley Way Closed After Crash - Tweed/Byron

A major regional road remains closed following a serious crash near Murwillumbah earlier today.

About 12.45pm (Thursday 24 October 2024), emergency services were called to Tweed Valley Way, Condong, following reports of a crash.

At the scene, police were told that a Volkswagen Passat and Subaru Forester had collided near Clothiers Creek Road.

The male driver of the Passat was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The female driver of the Forester was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken by road to the same hospital.

Police attached to Tweed/Byron Police District have established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit are conducting inquiries into the incident.

Diversions are in place, with Tweed Valley Way expected to remain closed for several hours.
