Two men have been arrested after a pursuit with a stolen car on the South Eastern Freeway overnight, according to SA Police.
Police spotted the stolen Holden Commodore sedan heading east on the freeway at Crafers just before 12.30am on Tuesday 20 December. The vehicle's tyres were successfully spiked at Petwood and the car came to a stop about three kilometres outside Callington.
The driver was quickly apprehended, but the passenger ran off.
Police Dog Marley and handler were called in to assist, and PD Marley was instrumental in tracking the fleeing suspect for three kilometres along the train line and through paddocks to Callington, where police established cordons.
It will be alleged the suspect broke into a house at Callington and stole a Holden Statesman sedan, but was stopped by police at a cordon point and arrested.
The victims of the break-in were not confronted by the intruder and not injured.
A 22-year-old Walkley Heights man, who was the alleged driver, was arrested and charged with illegal use, aggravated engage in a police pursuit, drive in a manner dangerous, drive disqualified and breach of bail.
A 21-year-old Para Vista man was arrested and charged with two counts of illegal use, aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft and going equipped to commit an offence.
Both men were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
