Two men have been arrested for unrelated offences during an investigation in Seaton, according to SA Police.
Police will allege that about 1.30am, patrols were on Pedlar Street when they tried to stop a white Subaru station wagon.
The car sped away, but was not pursued as it stopped soon after and the occupants ran off at the intersection of Sparrow Court and South Parade.
A police dog was called in to help search the area, and located a man nearby who is not believed to be connected to the initial incident.
A search of the man uncovered a large knife, and the 42-year-old Hendon man was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon. He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
A second man who was also not connected to the initial incident was arrested for disorderly behaviour, after he left his nearby house and began abusing police and using offensive language.
Investigations continue regarding the driver of the Subaru, and anyone with information that can assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
