Two Arrested in Attempted Break-in, Chase

Two males have been arrested following an attempted break-in and pursuit with a stolen vehicle in Sydney's north.

About 1.15am (today Friday 6 September 2024) two males were allegedly disturbed during a break and enter at a home on Seaforth Crescent, Seaforth where they fled the scene in a Toyota Camry.

A short time later officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command sighted the vehicle travelling east along Military Road, Mosman, in excess of the 60km/h posted speed limit.

When the vehicle failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated.

It will be alleged that speeds of over 90kph in a 60km/h zone were reached, before the driver stopped the vehicle along the Warringah Freeway, North Sydney, and ran from the scene.

After a short foot pursuit, the 19-year-old man was arrested with the assistance of the Dog Squad.

He was treated at the scene for a dog bite to the right leg and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition where he remains under police guard.

A male passenger was arrested in the vehicle. The 17-year-old was taken to Manly Police Station and is assisting with inquiries.
